This year's EVM World event was held on May 22nd - 24th, 2019 at The Westin Hotel in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Workshop sessions this year reinforced the EVM World theme of "Maximizing Program & Performance Management Through Collaboration". 

In the first article in this series Who Should Be The Control Account Manager (CAM) for Direct Material? I discussed how material is handled in an Earned Value environment, and addressed some of the key underlying assumptions. 

When Earned Value is applied to Government sponsored programs via the EIA-748 guidelines, all program resources must be accounted for in the EV data elements. These include direct labor, materials and subcontracts as well as applicable indirect costs.

At the beginning of February I attended the NDIA IPMD Winter 2019 meeting in Melbourne, FL. With many topics discussed, the EVMIG was one of much anticipation.

During the NDIA Integrated Program Management Division (IPMD) Winter Meeting in Melbourne, FL, Randy Steeno of NDIA discussed the updates contained in the EIA-748, Revision D, which was published by SAE on January 8th, 2019.

The Control Account Manager, or CAM, plays a critical role in an Earned Value Management System (EVMS). 

Oracle's Primavera Unifier is a cost control, capital planning, and project phase delivery tool. Oracle Construction and Engineering has now enhanced their already great Unifier tool with added Earned Value Management (EVM) capabilities. 

As most of you probably are aware, Deltek MPM, currently in the Maintenance Support phase will be moving into Sustaining Support as of December 31, 2018. There will be no further updates or fixes to the software offered by Deltek after that. The state of MPM that it is currently in, will remain.
