Pinnacle has worked across many industries to implement Earned Value Management (EVM). One trend we are seeing in the Private Sector is the use of EVM to maximize profit on Fixed Price contracts.

We recently had a prospect that asked us to build a Roadmap for an Enterprise Project Management and an Earned Value Management system. They have a mix of private sector work and also government work requiring EVMS.  At the CFO, COO level they were convinced that knew what they needed.

For experienced users transitioning from the P6 client (what is now called P6 Professional) to the Release 8 web implementation many operations in the Activity window are very similar.

Significant enhancements have been made to the web reporting in Primavera Release 8. Primavera Web reporting is done using Oracle Business Intelligence (BI). Reports can be output in different formats, scheduled and distributed via different methods (printers, file, email, content repository etc.)

Oracle Primavera P6 V8 has proven itself as an excellent enterprise tool. By continuing to add capabilities for all Enterprise Stakeholders and by integrating with Oracle ERP and other Oracle Enterprise tools, Oracle Business Intelligence (BI) and Oracle Business Process Management (BPM) for example; Primavera P6 is supporting process excellence across large international organizations involved in Product Lifecycle Management.

With P6 Release 8 Oracle Primavera continues its push toward the Enterprise environment and the web. This P6 V8 upgrade is a very significant enhancement.

By default, when Primavera refers in their documentation to P6 EPPM they are referring to the web. They will specifically say "P6 Optional Client" or "P6 Professional" to refer to the client.
