Deltek Releases Cumulative Update 11 to Open Plan 8.2

Posted by Sara Marks on Tuesday, September 3, 2019

On Friday, August 30th, 2019 Deltek released a cumulative update to Open Plan 8.2. Below are some of the new features as well as some of the performance improvements.

New Enhancements

Cumulative Update 11 to Deltek's Open Plan 8.2 tool included one new pretty important enhancement. It now supports Oracle 18.3.

Resolved Issues

A few issues that were resolved with this update include the following:
  • Project >> Cost Calculations
    • Budget Cost did not match Budget Qty when using a baseline created on Late Dates and running cost calculations with unit cost=1.
  • File >> Change Mode
    • In shared mode, when a user had a temporary lock and released locks (unlocked the project) after making changes and choosing not to save the changes, unsaved changes remained in the user's local copy of the project.
    • The fix for defect 1075899 (Slow performance applying a shared mode lock on large multi-projects) in Open Plan 8.2 CU07 had side effects for the integration between PM Compass and Open Plan. This update resolves those issues while retaining the performance improvements.
  • Edit >> Activity Details
    • In shared mode, when a user added an activity, and a second user tried to add the same activity using the Activity Details dialog, Open Plan would indicate the activity already existed but then blank the contents of the activity.
    • Open Plan exhibited inconsistent behavior when multiple users edited an activity on the Activity Details dialog box in shared mode.
  • Edit >> Activity Progress
    • An SQL.log was created but not populated.
    • When you logged into Open Plan, you may have encountered a "server busy" message.
  • Project >> Schedule Driver Analysis
    • If there were activities in a project that had predecessors that had been completed, the Schedule Driver Analysis process may have calculated incorrect paths because these relationships were no longer ignored.
  • Various Security Related Software Issues Resolved

Download this latest release in the Deltek Software Manager now. As we previously mentioned, Open Plan 8.3 released in June of this year as well. But if you are still on the 8.2 version, you might want to take advantage of this release to fix some of those bugs you may be experiencing or to integrate with Oracle 18.3.
